I make large thrown pieces, with functionality, colour and unique surface texture in mind.
Lotte is the founder of Pigdown Pottery. Starting from a small space in a barn to a large and bright studio space, Lotte has created a creative hub where potters have the space and freedom to explore the medium that is clay. The pottery offers classes and memberships, allowing self exploration and time to practice without having the overheads of ones own equipment. Lotte's practice looks at functional stoneware, with the occasional hand built sculptural piece along the way. Surface texture features heavily in her work and each piece has its own individual character, no one is ever the same!
