About the artist

Kath's paintings are built up with loose layers of mark making, pattern and texture - adding and removing paint with a wide variety of tools. These unrestrained layers then give way to a more considered approach as she works towards completing the artwork.

 

Her interest lies in the colours, patterns and textures created by the weathering of materials; her artwork is particularly influenced by the decoration and deterioration of walls and painted surfaces.
