About the artist

I have been a Chinese Brushpainter for the last 7 years and in the last year have started a three year Sumi teacher training course with an amazing Japanese artist and teacher. I am enjoying learning to use ink and its wonderful effects to bring light and shade to paintings. When used well, the different shades of ink create a work which allows the viewer to enjoy a complete picture, without the feeling that colour is missing. I hope to provide a pleasing and contrasting mix of colourful Chinese paintings and bold, striking ink pieces, sometimes adding colour to mark details in ink paintings.
