About the artist

Painter, printmaker, drawing

 

Margaret Devitt's subject matter includes, figures, still life, landscape, abstract and semi-abstract, and printmaking. She has been learning oil and cold wax techniques at the Ballinglen Arts Foundation in Ireland and through the Cold Wax Academy and will be offering a taster workshop in cold wax during open studios (email for details). Her ongoing work includes her Earth series in oil and cold wax; an exploration  of how to  interpret some of Bach's Cello Suites visually; and interpreting the figure through gestural marks in printmaking.
