About the artist

Embroidery and mixed media on fabric.

I am a self-taught textile artist who likes to use embroidery, patchwork and felting to create unique pieces of work, as well as everyday practical items. I use a variety of fabrics but really like to dye, paint, and print unique pieces of cloth to use as a base for some of my work. I am especially inspired by nature, my garden and many of the local beautiful walks around the area.

 

One of the challenges I have set myself is to be less wasteful and as a result, I have begun to use small pieces of ‘scrap’ fabric in a process called crumb quilting. I have also even found a way to use up leftover threads creating decorative thread bowls.
