About the artist
Following an art school training, I worked as a graphic designer then creative director, eventually setting up my own consultancy. Throughout both my design work and in my painting the enduring inspiration for me is colour and light and how they can evoke a mood. I love to paint bold, colourful abstracts inspired by what I see around me. Also lately I have become very concerned about the severe decline in insects and biodiversity. I wanted to capture the energy and movement, pattern and colour of the natural world, in the hope it would help raise awareness of what we are losing. There are endless subjects that inspire me but whether it is a tiny insect or a big sky, it always comes back to the thrill of putting paint on paper and the exciting juxtapositions of colours.
