About the Artist
Nadia Mulder was born in The Netherlands and grew up in Sussex.
She graduated from Wimbledon College of Art in 2009 with a BA-Fine Art: Painting Degree.
‘Through the use of illusionary space, material and light effects I create images which are object-like. It is an attempt to make the viewer 're-view' what it is they are looking at.
Visual themes you may find in my paintings are: monumental and architectural features, celestial bodies, mirrors, tools and instruments, ceremonial objects.’

The part of a sun dial which casts a shadow, indicating the hour of the day, is a gnomon. By depicting aspects of objects to create images, I aim to challenge the viewer’s perception.
